DUO FARAVELLI-BURRONE

This is a great duo, with Stefano Faravelli on the piffero and Matteo Burrone on the accordion! The music is fast and fantastic; the dancers will be happy! Those who know Stefano and Matteo will come especially for them. Those who don’t know them are going to make a wonderful discovery!

A piffero-accordion duo who come from the Quattro Province... does that remind you of anything? Who is the best, the most well-known in Italy and the most recognised in the trad music scene of the piffero-accordion duos of the Qattro Province? A duo who came to Feufliâzhe in 2013 for a magnificent concert? It’s the duo Valla-Scurati. And Stefano Valla was Stefano Faravelli’s teacher. The latter, therefore, has an excellent background!

Polka

Forty years old this year, and already very experienced, Stefano Faravelli began learning to play the piffero at the age of 13. He has played in duos with different partners, and these days he plays with Matteo, a young vrtuoso on the accordion who is only just 20 and who has a clear strong voice for the Italian love songs.

Jig in four time

To teach you the dances of the Quattro Province (the four provinces of Liguria, surrounding the Gulf of Genoa, are a mountainous link between the Appenines and the Alps), Stefano and Matteo will conduct a workshop on Saturday morning at Habère-Poche, in the village hall which has a good dance floor. You will need to register (see the page on workshops).

Then to listen to the duo and/or to dance to their melodies, come to the concert-bal on Saturday evening. They will be playing with the Italian group Chemin de Fer.
